Pain is a significant public health issue that has been shown to be positively affected through the promotion of positive psychological experiences, such as gratitude. Work in our laboratory focuses on how the interaction between gratitude and COMT genotype influence the sensory experience of pain, pain-related cognitions, as well as physiological reactions to acute pain.
